Sebastian Aho didn’t get an invitation to the NHL All-Star Game, but that’s quite alright with the Carolina Hurricanes, who benefited from his week off with two quick goals in the first period of Tuesday’s game.
First, he took a feed from Jordan Staal with his back to the net, split the defense and surprised Steve Mason.

A few minutes later, Aho pickpocketed Claude Giroux at the blue line, and did some fancy footwork to avoid an offside call and set up Elias Lindholm for a give and go.
