Nestrasil has played in 18 games this season, most recently last Tuesday against the Devils. He was acquired from the Detroit Red Wings as a waiver claim on November 20, 2014, and went on to play 114 games with the Hurricanes. He scored 17 goals and 29 assists for 46 points with the Canes, going 1/5/6 this season.
We will find out at noon tomorrow if Nestrasil has cleared waivers or has been claimed by another team. If he clears, he will almost certainly be assigned to Charlotte.
This move likely means that Elias Lindholm, out of the lineup with an upper-body injury since December 31, will return to play tomorrow night when the Canes host the Blue Jackets.
