Reading Assignments
- On November 18 at 1 pm, the Raleigh PD hockey team will play a game against the Hurricanes’ alumni at PNC. The event is free, but a donation is requested at the door to benefit Special Olympics North Carolina through Raleigh PD’s Torch Run efforts. Wade Minter will call the game in-house. SONC and Torch Run merchandise will be sold at the door for additional revenue. The Canes alumni scheduled to appear include Robert Kron, Shane Willis, Erik Cole, Tim Brent, Steve Rice, Jesse Boulerice, Aaron Ward, Bates Battaglia and Jeff Daniels. [SONC/Raleigh PD flyer]
- Speaking of Erik Cole, he was on with Adam and Joe yesterday and feels the Canes have plenty more to give. Also, are the players tuning out Bill Peters? [WRALSportsFan (audio)]
- Cory Lavalette makes the argument that the Canes’ current predicament is on Ron Francis, not Peters, to fix. [North State Journal]
- And if we do get to the point that Peters is shown the door, how long does it take before the change becomes ineffective? [The Athletic ($)]
- Does Nikita Kucherov have a chance to hit one of the benchmarks of single-season greatness? [FiveThirtyEight]
- The Matt Duchene/Kyle Turris deal is the latest in a surprisingly long history of three-way NHL deals. [Sportsnet]
