The Carolina Hurricanes played like a team that hadn’t played in five days throughout the first period on Friday, but they received a lucky break at the end of the opening 20 minutes to tie the game at one against the Avalanche.

It’s Jeff Skinner’s team-leading 19th of the season. Lee Stempniak (16) and Brett Pesce (12) got the assists on the goal.

Skinner talked about his goal during the intermission.
