The Carolina Hurricanes managed to stay in it after a sluggish first period. Lee Stempniak banged home his 11th of the year to make it a 2-1 game in South Florida.

Teuvo Teravainen and Jaccob Slavin both picked up their 18th assists of the season on the goal.
