Carolina Hurricanes at New York Islanders: Projected Lines and Rosters

New, comments

Lucas Wallmark debuts, but the news isn't so good for the Canes’ injured trio.

Another injury has scrambled the lineup for the Carolina Hurricanes for the second time in as many games. This time, the upper-body injury to Valentin Zykov and the existing injuries to Phil Di Giuseppe and Brock McGinn have necessitated a callup for Lucas Wallmark, who makes his NHL debut tonight on a line with Joakim Nordstrom and Lee Stempniak.

Coach Bill Peters said that Di Giuseppe, who skated this morning, is in game shape aside from the fact that he can't shoot the puck, which hints at a wrist injury. Zykov (who may, depending on the severity of the injury, be this year's version of Brad Fast) and McGinn are not on the trip, and Peters said neither one of them is expected back in the short term.

Here's how the Canes will line up tonight, from Michael Smith:

Sebastian Aho - Jordan Staal - Teuvo Teravainen
Jeff Skinner - Victor Rask - Elias Lindholm
Jay McClement - Derek Ryan - Patrick Brown
Joakim Nordstrom - Lucas Wallmark - Lee Stempniak

Jaccob Slavin - Justin Faulk
Noah Hanifin - Brett Pesce
Klas Dahlbeck - Matt Tennyson

Cam Ward
Eddie Lack

Injuries and Scratches: Ryan Murphy (healthy), Brock McGinn (upper body), Phil Di Giuseppe (upper body), Valentin Zykov (upper body)

And for the Islanders, who will start their backup tonight and will be without the services of the injured Casey Cizikas:

Anders Lee - John Tavares - Josh Bailey
Andrew Ladd - Ryan Strome - Jason Chimera
Nikolay Kulemin - Brock Nelson - Josh Ho-Sang
Stephen Gionta - Anthony Beauvillier - Cal Clutterbuck

Nick Leddy - Adam Pelech
Calvin de Haan - Travis Hamonic
Thomas Hickey - Dennis Seidenberg
