It’s not too late to enter the fun - and help out a good cause at the same time.

The first round of the 2017 Canes Country Playoff Pick ‘Em is over. You likely didn’t do too well.

While this may not be good news for you, it’s great news if you missed the first round. We’ve always allowed folks to enter at whatever point they want to during the course of the competition, and this year with the low scores in round one, you definitely should - you still have a chance to win!

Here are the standings after Round 1. There were 48 points available in this round. Needless to say, no one came close to that:

Just a reminder: this year, we’re doing the pick ‘em competition for the benefit of the Bryan and Amanda Bickell Foundation in celebration and honor of Bryan Bickell’s career. We’re asking for a $5 donation, although you may certainly donate more if you’d like. The winner will receive a $50 gift card of your choice, and the remainder of the pot will be a donation to the Bickell Foundation on behalf of Canes Country’s readers.

This is boldfaced on the internet so you know it’s important: if you played in round 1 but haven’t made your donation, please don’t forget to send it along via PayPal to sbncanescountry@gmail.com.

The basics, for your refreshment and edumacation:

  • Comment on this post with the winner of each series and how many games. For the second round, you get two points for the correct winner, and the standard five bonus points if you also get the number of games correct.
  • After you comment, send your donation via PayPal to sbncanescountry@gmail.com. Make sure you include your username so that we know who to credit the donation to.
  • All picks must be in by puck drop of the first game of the second round, which is this Wednesday, April 26, at 8:00 p.m. Comments will be closed at that time.
  • Please make certain that the email address associated with your SB Nation account is correct and active. We will email the winner, so if your email isn’t current, we won’t have any way to reach you. Also, if you would like to enter but are having trouble logging into your account, please email sbncanescountry@gmail.com and we will do our best to assist you.

For my own sanity, please post your picks in the following order (I enter them into a spreadsheet and it is considerably easier to manage the entries if they're all in the same order):

Here are the Canes Country staff picks for the second round. Good luck!
