Keys to the game:

  1. Closing Time: The Checkers have the opportunity to move on to round two with a win tonight on the road. Charlotte has not advanced past the first round since their first season after relocation from Albany back in 2010-11. The Wolves, meanwhile, have not advanced past the first round since the 2013-14 season. Someone’s streak is going to end, and the Checkers have two chances to make sure it’s them.
  2. It’s Miller (-Zykov-Wallmark) Time: The Checkers’ top line has been on fire in the first round. Lucas Wallmark and Andrew Miller rank second and fourth, respectively, in AHL playoff scoring. If the line gets rolling in Game 4, the Checkers can start packing their bags for Charlotte to get prepared for round two.
  3. First is not the worst: The team that has scored first has won every game in the series so far. Charlotte scored the first goal of the game in the first period in Games 1 and 3 and were rewarded with wins. A strong first period start and the first goal of the game may indicate a win for the Checkers in Game 4.
