It’s been an emotional few days for Bryan Bickell, and the tribute the Hurricanes had planned midway through the third period in Saturday’s game against the Blues may have been the most touching moment of all.
Bickell came out onto the ice to acknowledge the standing ovation of the crowd while both benches and the officials gave him a stick salute. Bickell will retire following the season after he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in November.
Another tribute to Bickell. Both benches and the officials applauding as Bickell takes a twirl off the bench. pic.twitter.com/63Tk7EK2Ej— Brian LeBlanc (@bdleblanc) April 9, 2017
