“Recap” and Rank ‘Em: Bryan Bickell Scores Shootout Goal, Canes Win 4-3

The Canes won the game in the shootout and quite honestly no one cared about the result.

Jamie Kellner

The SB Nation rules say that we have to recap the game from tonight. So here you go: Brock McGinn scored twice, then added the shootout winner and Sebastian Aho also scored as the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Philadelphia Flyers 4-3 in the final game of their season.

Now onto what really matters: Bill Peters made good on his promise from last night, nearly admitting outright that he made a mistake in not sending Bryan Bickell out for the shootout in the Canes’ loss to the St. Louis Blues. The hockey gods provided him with a mulligan Sunday night, in Bickell’s final game, and Peters didn’t miss a beat.

And then, the storybook ending that everyone hoped for actually happened.

Have a great summer, everyone.

(If you downvote Bickell, you deserve every bit of the everlasting scorn that you will invite upon yourself.)
