The first of consecutive days featuring games between the Hurricanes and Lightning faces off tonight in Tampa. Bill Peters said after last night’s game that a couple of players who participated in the overtime win over the Sabres would get a bonus appearance tonight, and three players who played last night are also in the lineup tonight: Josh Jooris, Brock McGinn and Andrew Poturalski.
Here’s how the Canes will look tonight:
Teuvo Teravainen - Victor Rask - Justin Williams
Joakim Nordstrom - Marcus Kruger - Brock McGinn
Warren Foegele - Janne Kuokkanen - Julien Gauthier
Clark Bishop - Andrew Poturalski - Josh Jooris
Klas Dahlbeck - Roland McKeown
Trevor Carrick - Brenden Kichton
Philip Samuelsson - Jake Chelios
Alex Nedeljkovic
Callum Booth
As for the Lightning, tonight is their preseason opener, and they are sending out an exceptionally young lineup, just scraping the veteran minimum on the ice tonight. Here’s how they’ll look, with a pair of names familiar to Canes fans in the lineup:
Alexander Volkov - Vladimir Namestnikov - Cory Conacher
Adam Erne - Matthew Peca - Anthony Cirelli
Cedric Paquette - Gabriel Dumont - J.T. Brown
Boris Katchouk - Alexey Lipanov - Taylor Raddysh
Libor Hajek - Andrej Sustr
Oleg Sosunov - Jamie McBain
Daniel Walcott - Cal Foote
Michael Leighton
Nicola Riopel
And the Lightning may have a bit of an unfair advantage in this game, given that their sideline reporter is running recon on an opposition lineup that includes her brother (s/t George Fitzgerald from Raw Charge):
