Storm Advisory for September 25: Carolina Hurricanes at Edmonton Oilers Game Preview, NHL News and Daily Roundup

The Hurricanes will take on the reigning league MVP Connor McDavid and his Edmonton Oilers.

The Hurricanes will try to continue to build on their impressive preseason tonight as they take on the Oilers in Alberta. The big club has thinned its roster to 33 players after a second set of roster cuts yesterday. The next set of two games against a hot offensive Oilers team will likely play a big role as the Canes’ braintrust continues to work the group down to the 23 man limit.

Scott Darling is expected to make his long-awaited first preseason start for the Canes tonight. With most of the Charlotte crew having returned for the first day of Checkers camp, a few players, including Lucas Wallmark, Martin Necas, Janne Kuokkanen and Trevor Carrick, will get an extended audition before the Canes make their final roster decisions.

Get ready, because it’s going to be a late night with a 9:00 start! (And, according to the Canes, with a live stream courtesy of the Oilers that will be available at Hurricanes.com - wooo!)
