The wait is finally over. Carolina Hurricanes hockey is back in the form of the Traverse City Prospect Tournament.
The Canes’ offense was efficient in period one, scoring twice on the Detroit Red Wings, starting with a one-timer from the top of the circle from Janne Kuokkanen.

Moments later, the Hurricanes broke out of their own end on the rush, and it was 2017 first-round draft pick Martin Necas who cashed in on a great tic-tac-toe play with Nick Schilkey.

Despite getting heavily outshot in the first period, the Hurricanes escaped with a 2-0 lead in game one of the prospect tournament.
