Game Notes

  • The Hurricanes won the inaugural game between the two franchises on December 12th in Las Vegas in a shootout.
  • Tonight marks the first game in PNC Arena against the expansion team and the final matchup of the season between the two clubs.
  • The Hurricanes’ shootout win in December in Vegas was the Golden Knights’ first loss in OT/SO on home ice in franchise history.
  • Both Marcus Kruger and Trevor van Riemsdyk were acquired from the Golden Knights this summer. Both players scored their first Hurricanes goal against the Knights on December 12th.
  • If you’re watching on TV tonight, you’ll enjoy another cameo appearance by Shane Willis in the booth next to John Forslund, with Tripp Tracy again on the shelf due to illness.

Lines and Rosters

Brett Pesce was tagged as a game-time decision last night in Detroit but did not play. Roland McKeown was recalled late yesterday but we have no word regarding his status for tonight’s game, although it seems unlikely he will play. Whether Pesce plays and relegates Klas Dahlbeck or Haydn Fleury to the bench is more uncertain. The only likely change would be Scott Darling relieving Cam Ward after Ward earned the win last night.
