The Hurricanes return home after snapping their three-game losing streak in Detroit with a 3-1 win over the Red Wings on Monday night. Sebastian Aho still sports his nine-game points streak as he continues to ascend as a top scoring threat in the NHL. Micheal Ferland will also look to continue his four-game goal scoring streak as his early results in Carolina continue to be one of the most pleasant surprises to date. The Canes will also begin their “Black Friday” series, as they plan to wear the black sweaters for all home Friday contests.

The Canes continue to roll over the bottom end of the lineup, as Nicolas Roy returns for what will be his second career NHL game and first of the 2018-19 season.

In terms of the lineup, Petr Mrazek is expected to start, even as Scott Darling rejoins the roster after his conditioning stint in Charlotte. Mrazek will be starting his second straight contest, as he made 20 saves in the win in Detroit.

The Canes project to line up in the following way:

Warren Foegele - Jordan Staal - Justin Williams

Micheal Ferland - Sebastian Aho - Teuvo Teravainen

Jordan Martinook - Lucas Wallmark - Andrei Svechnikov

Brock McGinn - Nicolas Roy - Valentin Zykov

Jaccob Slavin - Dougie Hamilton

Calvin de Haan - Justin Faulk

Trevor van Riemsdyk - Brett Pesce

Petr Mrazek

Scott Darling

The San Jose Sharks enter Friday’s contest on a three-game winning streak, including an exciting 5-4 OT victory over the Nashville Predators on Tuesday night in Nashville. They are expected to be without Joe Thornton again as he continues to work back from a knee infection in his right knee.

Backup netminder Aaron Dell will be between the pipes for the Sharks in their only visit to Raleigh. Dell has stopped 55 of the 60 shots he has faced in his two starts on the season. He is 2-1 against the Hurricanes in his career

Below is the projected lineup for the Sharks:

Tomas Hertl- Logan Couture -- Timo Meier

Marcus Sorensen - Antti Suomela - Joonas Donskoi

Barclay Goodrow - Rourke Chartier - Melker Karlsson
