Carolina Hurricanes vs. Columbus Blue Jackets: Lineups and Game Discussion

Scott Darling is back in net after a sterling performance Monday as the Canes look to make up ground on the division-leading Jackets.

After four days off, the Carolina Hurricanes get back at it tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets, a team the Canes beat a little more than a month ago as part of that 4-0-1 start that seems like ancient history now.

Rod Brind’Amour plans to keep his lineup identical to Monday’s overtime win over the Blackhawks, meaning that Brett Pesce will miss his third consecutive game. It seems that there are no concerns with Sebastian Aho, who practiced in a non-contact jersey Wednesday but has been a full participant the past two days.

Scott Darling is confirmed as the starter, still in search of his first pair of consecutive wins in a Hurricanes uniform. Tonight is also the second Homegrown Series night of the season, and the peach ice cream sundae (replete with a Belgian waffle) looks delectable.

And speaking of food, tonight is another chance for you to assist in the Stock the Pantry Food Drive. Bring canned food to any entrance and you will be entered for a chance to win prizes, tickets or a team experience.

Here’s how the Canes will line up tonight:

Brock McGinn - Jordan Staal - Justin Williams
Micheal Ferland - Sebastian Aho - Teuvo Teravainen
Andrei Svechnikov - Lucas Wallmark - Jordan Martinook
Warren Foegele - Clark Bishop - Phil Di Giuseppe

Jaccob Slavin - Dougie Hamilton
Calvin de Haan - Justin Faulk
Haydn Fleury - Trevor van Riemsdyk

Scott Darling
Curtis McElhinney

Injuries and Scratches: Valentin Zykov (conditioning stint), Petr Mrazek (lower body), Brett Pesce (lower body), Victor Rask (hand; injured non-roster)

Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky and forwards Artemi Panarin and Riley Nash missed Thursday night’s 7-3 win against Florida but practiced Friday and are expected to be in the lineup tonight with Bobrovsky starting in net. Head coach John Tortorella missed Friday’s practice due to illness. Nick Foligno missed practice due to a personal matter but is expected to be in the lineup. Defenseman Gabriel Carlsson was recalled from the AHL Thursday and may draw into the lineup in place of Scott Harrington.

Artemi Panarin - Pierre-Luc Dubois - Cam Atkinson
Nick Foligno - Boone Jenner - Josh Anderson
Brandon Dubinsky - Alexander Wennberg - Anthony Duclair
Markus Hannikainen - Riley Nash - Oliver Bjorkstrand

Ryan Murray - Seth Jones
Markus Nutivaara - David Savard
