Carolina Hurricanes vs. Florida Panthers: Lineups and Game Discussion

The Hurricanes look to extend their win streak to three games with a win over the Panthers.

Jamie Kellner

The Canes stay home and look to add another win to their current streak to extend it to three games. The Panthers are 6-4 in their last ten games and sit at the bottom of the Eastern Conference — although through no fault of their own, given that they have played just 19 games.

Victor Rask made his season debut in Wednesday’s 5-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs and finished with two shots on goal and 10:32 of ice time. Curtis McElhinney finished with 29 saves on 31 shots, and he will get the start, his third straight, tonight.

Mike Hoffman has been off to a hot start in Florida since being traded from San Jose via Ottawa. He leads the Panthers with 20 points (10 goals, 10 assists). Goaltending has been rough for the Panthers, as it has been for the Hurricanes, and the stats are telling. Roberto Luongo has 3.07 goals against average and .902 save percentage and James Reimer has a 3.29 GAA and a .893 save percentage.
