  • Just a few days after the Hurricanes paid a visit to the Durham Bulls, the baseball club won the International League South Division. Coincidence?
  • On a related note, here’s a public service announcement:
  • Canes Country frequenter Eddie Rich posted in the comments yesterday that Andrei Svechnikov has the 2nd best rookie rating in NHL ‘19, behind Rasmus Dahlin.
  • Sean Monahan said the additions for the Flames have the team thinking ahead to the playoffs. Reading those names is almost like reading a Canes Country post last season:

Bill Peters was hired as coach April 23, replacing Glen Gulutzan. Forward Elias Lindholm and defenseman Noah Hanifin were acquired in a trade with the Carolina Hurricanes on June 23 for defenseman Dougie Hamilton, forward Micheal Ferland and defenseman prospect Adam Fox. Forwards James Neal, Derek Ryan and Austin Czarnik each signed as a free agent. [NHL]

  • Things with Wayne Simmonds and the Flyers are still up in the air, to say the least. [TSN]
