Hey folks, Brian here. You may have noticed in recent weeks that Jamie hasn’t been quite as visible as usual in the past. For the past couple of years, she’s been shuttling back and forth between Raleigh and Asheboro to help her dad care for her mom, and as time went by (especially over the summer) her visits became more and more frequent. Jamie’s mom passed away Saturday morning after a long illness. She was 84.
I never met her, but from what Jamie has said she is her mother’s clone in many ways (none moreso than her resemblance, which leaves no question). She raised four daughters, and Jamie once described her as tenacious and determined — and if you have ever met Jamie you know that applies in full to her as well. A lifelong resident of Randolph County, she was predeceased by her parents and one brother, and leaves behind her husband, one sister, her four daughters, and six grandchildren. The funeral will be held Friday in Asheboro.
All of us at CC send our condolences to Jamie and her family.
