Game Notes

  • The teams are meeting for the first of four matchups this season. The Devils will be back in PNC Arena in February, and the Canes will visit Newark twice in March.
  • The Canes and Devils split the season series last year, each winning two games.
  • The last of those four meetings is likely one you remember very fondly, as the Hurricanes clinched their first playoff berth in a decade last April with a 3-1 win in PNC Arena.
  • Petr Mrazek is 5-2-0 against the Devils in his career, with a .922% Save Percentage and a 2.03 Goals Allowed Average.
  • Both teams are coming off of a back-to-back situation tonight. The Devils fell to the Flyers in a shootout last night on home ice.
