A winning streak at Madison Square Garden?! Believe it or not, it’s possible tonight for the Carolina Hurricanes, as they look for their third straight win - and their second in a row at the World’s Most Famous Arena - in a pre-Thanksgiving matchup with the Rangers in Manhattan.

Game Notes
- The Hurricanes and Rangers are meeting for the second of four meetings this season. The Canes will be in New York again in December, while the Rangers will be in Raleigh in February to close out the season series.
- The Rangers lead the season series after picking up a 4-2 win in PNC Arena on 11/7. Dougie Hamilton and Sebastian Aho scored for Carolina. The Canes outshot the Rangers 47-19 but still couldn’t pull out a win as Henrik Lundqvist turned back the clock in making 45 saves.
- That’s still the most saves Lundqvist has made in a game this year, through 14 starts.
- The Hurricanes closed the season series in 2018-19 with a 3-0 road win in New York, snapping a streak of 16 consecutive losses in Madison Square Garden.
- Andrei Svechnikov enters tonight’s matchup riding an eight-game point streak, becoming the first teenager in team history (since relocation) to record a point streak of eight or more games. He recorded 37 points in his rookie campaign, and needed 59 games to each 27 points. This season, he’s hit the 27 point mark in just 24 games. He is second in points among Russian-born NHL players this season.
- Sebastian Aho picked up a goal and an assist against Detroit to extend his point streak to four games. He’s now picked up 14 points (9g, 5a) in 12 games during November.

- Amid investigation into allegations against Bill Peters, the former Canes bench boss will not coach the Flames in Buffalo tonight. [ESPN]
- ICYMI, this is not great. Our coverage from yesterday is here.
Former #Canes player Michal Jordan confirms to #TSN that there were "multiple" physical altercations between coach Bill Peters and players in Carolina.

"He kicked me pretty hard in the back during a game," Jordan said. "Even the trainers and the other guys saw it."
Per a Hurricanes source -- the player leadership group at the time and other staff members made Ron Francis aware of their concerns about Bill Peters conduct. Obviously - no change was made.

Can confirm and will add close relationships spanning decades were ruined because of Francis' decision not to fire Peters. Obviously more to come later. https://t.co/DPAhiCLGaT

Per another Canes team source - another red flag was the dual captaincy of Staal/Faulk instead of giving it to Justin Williams. Was primarily a power consolidating move by Peters that should’ve been overruled by Francis.
