Game Notes

  • The Hurricanes are playing at home on Black Friday for the third consecutive season. Tonight marks the 26th Black Friday game in franchise history, with the team owning a 15-8-2-0 record. The Canes are 4-4-0 on Black Friday in PNC Arena.
  • The Canes will be donning their black alternate uniforms for the fourth time out of 15. Since debuting their third jerseys last summer, the Hurricanes own a 19-4-2 record in the black thread, including a 3-0-0 record this season.
  • The Hurricanes and Predators are meeting for the first of two matchups this season. The Canes will round out the season with a visit to Bridgestone Arena in February.
  • The Canes have won six consecutive games against the Predators and are 10-2-1 in their last 13 games against Nashville.
  • The Canes swept the 2018-19 series with a 2-0-0 record. Sebastian Aho recorded four goals in the two game series, including a hat trick in the first matchup.
  • Dougie Hamilton has 12 points (3g, 9a) in 14 career games versus Nashville, while Aho has seven points (4g, 3a) and Ryan Dzingel has six points (1g, 5a) in six games against each.
  • The Hurricanes swapped out fourth-line centers on Friday morning, sending Eetu Luostarinen to Charlotte and recalling Clark Bishop from the Checkers. It’s the first recall of the year for the Checkers’ captain, who made his NHL debut last season and appeared in 20 regular-season games and two in the playoffs.
