The Hurricanes have picked up all but one available point thus far in the first three games of a five game road swing. They look to remain impressive tonight as they take on a solid Jets team in Winnipeg.

Game Notes
- The Canes and Jets are meeting for the first of two matchups this season. The Jets will finish out the series with a visit to PNC Arena on January 21st.
- The Jets won the season series in 2018-19, posting a 2-0-0 record and have won four straight matchups against the Canes — including an 8-1 blowout win in PNC Arena on March 3rd.
- Brian Gibbons was recalled from Charlotte yesterday, and will play in Winnipeg tonight.
- Erik Haula joined the team in Banff yesterday! It’s an encouraging step forward, but he isn’t quite ready for game action yet.

- Jets coach Paul Maurice is the winningest coach in franchise history for the Canes, amassing 384 wins in two stints as head coach of the Canes and Whalers.
- The Canes enter tonight’s matchup with a 2-0-1 record to start the five-game road swing. The road trip marks the 23rd time in franchise history that the team has played Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver on the same road trip, and the team took five points from the three opponents for just the second time in franchise history.
- The Hurricanes are nearly perfect on the penalty kill on the road trip thus far, killing 14 of 15 (93.3%) through their first three games. In their last 17 games, the Canes have gone 56 for 60 on the kill (93.3%), rising to second in the NHL in PK percentage at 86.5%.
Storm Advisory
- The Kings have put Ilya Kovalchuk on unconditional waivers for purpose of contract termination. His salary will still count in full against the Kings’ cap, but when he (presumably) clears at noon he will be an unrestricted free agent.
