Hurricane Tracking 12/20/19: Job Approval Tracking Poll

If you aren’t feeling pretty good about the Hurricanes after what they’ve done the last two weeks, we’re sorry.

Timing is everything, no matter the situation. And in the case of the Carolina Hurricanes, putting off the biweekly tracking poll until the end of a historically productive road trip would seemingly lend itself to some good feelings here in the week before Christmas.

So, with the Hurricanes presumably on the nice list for Santa’s visit next Tuesday night, let’s see how things looked two weeks ago and take the temperature on how they look now.

A couple of quick notes: there was a production issue with the FanPulse results from the most recent survey, so we don’t have that graphic this week. Also, to avoid overlapping with the New Year’s holiday, we’re going to stick to Friday for the first Hurricane Tracking of 2020, then return to Wednesdays beginning January 15.

The next FanPulse survey will come out next Wednesday. If you haven’t signed up yet, now is a great time to do so to participate in the new survey. Don’t forget that eventually our tracking polls will be folded into FanPulse and only registered users will be able to participate in the voting, so sign up now and you won’t miss a beat!

Now, onto the weekly Canes polls. First up, here’s how the approval ratings have trended since we started polling back in September:

(Man, y’all weren’t really feeling Roddy all that much last time around. Something tells me that will bounce right back up this time.)

Also from the last series of polls:

  • When will Justin Williams return, if at all, and with whom: 53% join the Hurricanes before the end of the season; 45% no, he’s done; 1% join the Hurricanes but not until next season; 1% will join another team
  • How would you handle Jake Gardiner: 61% healthy scratch; 21% cut losses and attempt to trade; 12% keep him in the lineup and scratch another D; 3% keep him in the lineup and play seven D; 2% other
  • How should the Hurricanes handle their goal scoring drought: 45% attempt to make a trade; 28% call someone up from Charlotte; 27% don’t make any moves
  • Are you satisfied/dissatisfied with how Hurricanes management handled the Bill Peters situation at the time: 56% satisfied, 44% dissatisfied
  • Are you satisfied/dissatisfied with how Hurricanes management handled the Peters situation in the present day: 87% satisfied, 13% dissatisfied
  • Right/wrong track: 85% right track
