The Hurricanes face off tonight against one of the hottest teams in the NHL this season in Boston. The Canes will look to take revenge on a Bruins team that swept them in the Eastern Conference Final last spring.

Game Notes

  • The Hurricanes and Bruins are meeting for the first of three matchups this season. The Canes will host Boston on March 31st, and the two teams will close out the series as well as their seasons on April 4th.
  • The Bruins won the season series in 2018-19 with a record of 2-1-0 (Canes: 1-1-1), and swept the Canes in the Eastern Conference Final.
  • The Bruins are hot of late with an 8-0-2 record in their last 10, and haven’t lost a game in regulation since November 8th. They’re currently atop the NHL standings in terms of point percentage, picking up 43 points in 27 games.
  • Despite the sweep, Sebastian Aho led the Hurricanes with three points (2g, 1a) in the conference final. He has recorded 12 points (8g, 4a) in nine career regular season games against Boston and has picked up a point in five of the consecutive matchups.
  • Dougie Hamilton recorded two assists in Saturday’s matchup against Tampa Bay, and has picked up 28 points (10g, 18a) in 27 games this season. He leads the league in goals among defenseman and is second to only John Carlson in total points by a defenseman this season.
