Game Notes

  • Unfortunately, Jordan Staal looks to be out for an extended period of time recovering from concussion.
  • The Canes recalled Haydn Fleury from Charlotte yesterday. He’s posted four points (1g, 3a) in 13 AHL games. (Update: And then they reassigned him this morning. Your guess is as good as ours.)
  • Tonight’s matchup is the second and final between the two teams this season. The Golden Knights shut out the Canes 3-0 in Vegas in November.
  • Former Hurricanes prospect Valentin Zykov is expected to draw into the lineup for Vegas tonight.
  • Curtis McElhinney will return to the active roster tonight with the Hurricanes after missing a few games with a lower body injury.
  • Tonight is the free game of the night on NHL.tv, so you can watch from out of market even if you don’t subscribe to the package.

Storm Advisory

  • Kevyn Adams got a cool promotion:

  • Gov. Roy Cooper was on with Adam and Joe, mostly to talk about the Virginia Tech/ECU football spat, but near the end he also weighed in on the potential of a Canes outdoor game. [WRAL Sports Fan]
  • Head Coach Rod Brind’Amour joined the Power Play on Sirius XM.
  • Eric Staal is facing a summer of uncertainty as his contract with the Wild ends and his future is unclear. [The Athletic ($)]
