Game Notes
- Tonight is Carolina’s fourth and final matchup this season against the Washington Capitals. The Capitals lead the season series with a record of 3-0-0 (Canes 0-2-1).
- A Hurricanes win tonight would ensure that they don’t lose control of the WC1 playoff spot. The Canadiens sit just one point behind the Hurricanes and are in action tonight against the Blue Jackets.
- The Capitals dominated the Hurricanes on Tuesday night in Washington. The Canes scored just one goal in the contest and looked considerably outgunned by the reigning Stanley Cup Champions.
- With a goal against Washington, Dougie Hamilton became just the seventh defenseman in franchise history to score 15 goals in a season. He will play in his 500th NHL game tonight, becoming the fifth member of the 2011 draft class to hit that milestone.
Storm Advisory
- The Canes game Tuesday night was the highest-rated regular season Hurricanes game in the Raleigh market in over ten years, posting a 1.4.
Looks like @NHLCanes fans in Raleigh are excited about a potential playoff berth.

- Someone needs to bubble wrap Mats Zuccarello.
L’Esperance and Zuccarello ran into each other at morning skate and was cut open next to eye, back to locker room for stitches. Rick Bowness with the best commentary, “that’s not good”

- No overtime in the Blue Jackets vs. Canadiens game. I can’t stress this enough. Anything but a three point game.
