Current Hurricanes Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen joined former Cane Jussi Jokinen along with several other Finnish hockey players for a charity golf tournament over the weekend. A link to an article/interview with Aho is here. You’ll need to use your browser’s translate function though, as it is published in Finnish.

Highlights include the following from Aho:

  • During the season, I was in no way connected [to the contract talks] because the thoughts would have [caused a distraction], says Aho.
  • Suddenly everything started to happen on the first day of July. [In the end]...I am extremely pleased that [I’ll be in]...Carolina five years longer. I see our team is moving forward. It became an awesome feeling!
  • Aho believes the team’s spring success in the playoffs is just a prelude.
  • Aho’s summer has been spent training. With the exception of a few fishing trips to Lapland, [his] everyday life is built [around training].
