Opening night is almost here! The Hurricanes will close the preseason this afternoon with a matchup against the rival Washington Capitals in PNC Arena with some big roster decisions left to make.
Today is the annual Caniac Carnival (full schedule can be found here) and will feature free activities and games, free general admission to the game (ticket required), free parking and reduced concessions, and pre-game and in-game commentary from Canes play-by-play announcer John Forslund.
During the Carnival, the Hurricanes will also be collecting toiletries to benefit Boys & Girls Homes of North Carolina and InterAct. Donations will be accepted at all entrances of PNC Arena, in front of the box office and inside the VIP entrance.
Please remember the mobile ticketing and PNC Arena clear bag policies are in effect.

Storm Advisory
- Hey, the Hurricanes have a new captain and two new alternates! Find out who they are here.
- The Avalanche agreed to terms on a six year deal with forward Mikko Rantanen. [NHL]
Believe AAV will come in around $9.25M on a long-term deal

- More RFA signings! Kyle Conner and the Winnipeg Jets agreed to a seven year deal yesterday.
7 year. 50M. For Connor. So, $7.14 mil and change.
