Game Notes
- Tonight’s game is the first of two matchups between the Stars and Hurricanes this season. The Stars will visit PNC Arena on February 25th to close out the season series.
- The Hurricanes swept the season series last year with a record of 2-0-0, and didn’t allow a goal scored against in either game, picking up two 3-0 shutouts.
- Teuvo Teravainen played in his 300th career Hurricanes game on Saturday night against the Golden Knights. He has played in 300 of a possible 301 games during his tenure in Carolina, with his one missed game being a healthy scratch against Columbus in November of 2017.
- Sebastian Aho scored his 30th goal of the season in just the 55th game on Saturday in Vegas. He matched his career high 30 goals he scored last season, and is the fourth player in team history to register consecutive 30-goal seasons. He reached 30 goals in the second-fewest games played in team history.
- Playoff watch: the Hurricanes are two points out of the final wild card spot currently held by the Flyers, and three points behind the Blue Jackets for the first wild card spot. The Canes have a game in hand over Philly and two games in hand over Columbus.
