Game Notes
- The Hurricanes face Nashville tonight for the second and final matchup between the teams this season. The Canes fell to the Predators in a 3-0 shutout o November 29th. Petr Mrazek made 29 saves and Carolina outshot Nashville 31-28.
- Mrazek is 8-10 in nine career games against the Predators, recording a .927 Save Percentage and a 2.33 goals against average.
- Sebastian Aho picked up three points (2g, 1a) in his 300th career game on Sunday vs. Edmonton. His 33 goals through 58 games this season is second in team history. Only Eric Staal recorded a quicker pace through the first 58 games of the season.
- Andrei Svechnikov registered an assist vs. Edmonton and extended his point streak to seven games. This marks the second-longest point streak of his career, trailing a nine game point streak he recorded in November. His 54 points (23g, 31a) have already surpassed his offensive totals from last season.
- In the 11 games since Dougie Hamilton’s injury, Jaccob Slavin has tallied eight points (1g, 7a), and his average ice time per game his increased by over three minutes to a team high of 25:01.
