The Canes are finally back home Monday night, as Carolina will play host to the reeling Toronto Maple Leafs looking to extend its season-opening win streak to five games.
Last time out the Canes beat Columbus 5-1, moving the season goal differential to an impressive 18-7. Jesper Fast, Vincent Trocheck (twice), Sebastian Aho and Jordan Staal all scored in that win, with Aho, Teuvo Teravainen and Andrei Svechnikov all extending their point streaks to start the season to four games.
Monday night in Raleigh it will be more of the same for Carolina, as Rod Brind’Amour will ride the hot hand and keep the lineup unchanged. That means it’ll be Frederik Andersen’s net once again, as Antti Raanta still awaits his Hurricanes debut.
Speaking of Hurricanes goalies against the Maple Leafs, there will be a friendly face in the stands Monday night in Raleigh.
