The Hurricanes will look to extend their win streak to a season-high seven games against the Nashville Predators tonight, but they’ll be a bit shorthanded in doing so.
Teuvo Teravainen and Jake Gardiner remain out, and Vincent Trocheck will also miss tonight’s game. Rod Brind’Amour said Trocheck definitely wouldn’t play tonight, calling it “a big blow” and said he could be reevaluated in the next couple days.
With their leading scorer out tonight, the Canes will have to shuffle their lineup a bit, with Morgan Geekie drawing in. James Reimer will get the nod in net.
Here’s how the Canes will line up for this one:
Nino Niederreter - Sebastian Aho - Martin Necas
Andrei Svechnikov - Jordan Staal - Jesper Fast
Brock McGinn - Jordan Martinook - Warren Foegele

Jaccob Slavin - Dougie Hamilton

Haydn Fleury - Jake Bean
Injuries and scratches: Petr Mrazek (right thumb), Teuvo Teravainen (concussion symptoms), Jake Gardiner (upper body), Vincent Trocheck (upper body)
Nashville will also be shorthanded tonight, particularly on the blue line, with captain Roman Josi out week to week with an upper-body injury, Ryan Ellis also out and Dante Fabbro serving the first of a two-game suspension for elbowing Brock McGinn Tuesday night.
Juuse Saros skated with the Predators Wednesday but remains out, and the Predators will also likely still be missing some players up front as well. Here’s how Nashville is projected to line up Thursday night:
