Hurricanes @ Ducks Game Preview

The Hurricanes make the trip to Anaheim to battle the Ducks as they try to move on after a tough win against the Kings last night.

The Carolina Hurricanes were unhappy with the way they performed during their 6-5 shootout victory over the Kings last night. They get to forget that game quickly as they take on the Anaheim Ducks at the Honda Center at 8:30 Eastern time tonight.

One might say that it is better to play poorly and win versus play well and lose, but don’t tell that to Carolina. Head coach Rod Brind’Amour said postgame that it was one of the worst games they ever played. (Not sure I agree with that assessment).

One thing for sure, the team will need to focus on staying out of the penalty box. They were called five times in their opener and another eight times last night.

I would look for Antti Raanta to start in goal for Carolina. The rest of the lineup won’t be known until close to game time.

The Ducks played last night as well. They lost to the Stanley Cup Champion, Las Vegas Golden Knights, 4-1. John Gibson made 34 saves for Anaheim in the defeat.
