Game Preview: Sharks at Hurricanes

The Canes hope to build on last night’s win to keep things rolling against San Jose.

After returning to the win column with last night’s victory over Seattle, the Canes will hop right back to it against San Jose tonight in PNC Arena.

Carolina (4-4-0) got the better of the Sharks (0-6-1) in SAP Center back on Oct. 17, winning 6-3. That result kicked off a five-game pointless streak for San Jose, so the Canes will need to fend off a squad hungry still searching for its first win of the season.

Though the Hurricanes are finally back home in Raleigh, playing another set of back-to-backs will test the team’s endurance. Freddie Andersen played against the Kraken, so expect Antti Raanta to get the start in net tonight.

Caniacs are also eager to see Andrei Svechnikov’s return to the ice, though it remains unclear when exactly he’ll be back in action. Svechnikov did not play against the Kraken. Before the game, Rod Brind’Amour said “when he’s in, I’ll let you know,” but Svech’s status remains day-to-day.

With or without No. 37, Carolina will hope to boost its record above .500 against San Jose. Here’s all the info on how to keep up with tonight’s game.
