Preview: Flyers at Hurricanes

The Canes return home for a Metro matchup against the Flyers on Hockey Fights Cancer night.

NHL: Carolina Hurricanes at Florida Panthers Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

The Hurricanes will be back in action at PNC Arena tonight to take on the Flyers.

Carolina (9-6-0) split a back-to-back in Florida on Friday and Saturday, falling 5-2 to the Panthers before bouncing back against the Lightning in a 4-0 win. On the flip side, Philadelphia (7-7-1) took both ends of its back-to-back in California on those same days, besting the Kings and Ducks 6-3 and 4-2, respectively.

The Canes will hope to halt Philly’s recent momentum tonight and one key to that task will be getting past Carter Hart. The Flyers netminder is likely to return tonight after missing the last two games with an illness.

Sebastian Aho will look to lead the charge for the Canes offense and put some pucks past Hart. Aho rides a streak of seven points in his last five games into tonight’s matchup. Brady Skjei will also look to extend his four-game point streak tonight.

Tonight is also Hockey Fights Cancer night for the Canes, partnering up with several organizations to raise funds and awareness for cancer research and patient support.
