After holding a skate at their practice rink earlier this morning , the Carolina Hurricanes jumped on a plane for a short trip to Nashville so they could battle the Predators in an NHL match up tonight.

Game time is 8 P.M. Eastern and the contest will be on Bally’s Sports South.

The Preds topped the Canes in overtime, 6-5 less than two weeks ago on December 15.

Walt Ruff reported that Pyotr Kochetkov was the first goalie off at the skate. He will most likely start tonight.

The Canes recalled Antti Raanta and he will be the back up. Yaniv Perets was returned to Norfolk.

It seems that Rod Brind’Amour is still tinkering with the forward lines. @Corylav reports on Twitter that the lines were as follows:

37 - 20 - 86

59- 82 - 88

24 - 11 - 48

71- 18 - 23
